Textiles and fashion can be regarded as a visual language reflecting the spirit of the time, coupled to materials, craft and tradition. During the four-year Bachelor Textile & Fashion programme at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK) you will be coached and encouraged to develop your personal opinion, style, and creative signature.
As a fashion designer, you will study sociology, anthropology, semiotics, psychology and visual culture. As a textile designer you will work with concepts such as material, shape, structure and environment, whether it involves decorating an interior, designing clothing, industry or product development, or your autonomous expression. We focus on innovative, accurate and relevant design.
As part of the admission and selection procedure for the Bachelor Textile and Fashion programme, you’ll be asked to provide examples of earlier work and explain your motivation to study at the Textile and Fashion department of the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague.
